This couple brought the definition of a ‘Backyard Wedding’ to a whole new level. The bride started her ‘getting-ready’ morning at the salon because when she first met the groom at university out-of-state, she had short hair. So on the day of the wedding, she cut her hair as a surprise to the groom and as a nod to when they first started dating.
Due to the entrance limitations of the temple, we waited outside the temple for the newlyweds after their formal ceremony concluded. That evening, the couple held an extended outdoor ceremony in the backyard of their North Bend home. Ahead of the backyard wedding ceremony, the bride was able to get ready with her closest friends and bridesmaids in the comfort of her own home. As the formal ceremony was completed in the temple during the morning, the backyard wedding ceremony was simple, yet intimate and breathtaking with views of the mountain as the backdrop. The large open grassy area allowed plenty of room for capturing wedding portraits of the newlyweds, reception, lantern releases into the river, and lots of fun and games for the guests! To end the night, family and friends sent off the newlyweds under a tunnel of sparklers to give “spark” on their new journey together as husband and wife.
